Galway Bay Rugby Club Mini Rugby Returns for 2026/27 Season

Galway Bay Rugby Club’s Mini Rugby programme returns this Saturday, 29 August, with boys and girls invited to get involved for the 2026/27 season.

Training takes place at McGrath’s Field, Knocknacarra, with age groups from U6/U7 right through to U12, alongside a dedicated girls-only session.

Whether your child has played rugby before or is picking up a rugby ball for the very first time, Mini Rugby is a great opportunity to get active, learn new skills, make friends and become part of the Galway Bay Rugby Club community.

2026/27 Mini Rugby Training Times

New Players Welcome

The new season gets underway on Saturday, 29 August, and Galway Bay Rugby Club is looking forward to welcoming back returning players as well as plenty of new faces.

At Mini Rugby level, the emphasis is on enjoyment, participation and development. Children get the opportunity to learn the fundamentals of rugby in a fun and supportive environment while developing their skills, teamwork and confidence.

Just as importantly, Mini Rugby is about making friends, enjoying Saturday mornings and becoming part of a club environment.

No previous rugby experience is necessary. Children who have never played rugby before are very welcome to come along and give it a try.

Girls Rugby at Galway Bay

Galway Bay Rugby Club will also continue its dedicated girls-only rugby session, open to girls born from 2013 to 2018.

The girls’ session takes place from 9:15am to 10:15am and provides another opportunity for girls to get involved in rugby, whether they are completely new to the sport or already have playing experience.

With the 2026/27 season about to begin, it is the perfect time for new players to get involved.
