Busy Few Days Ahead for Galway Bay Youth Teams
There’s a steady run of games coming up for Galway Bay Rugby Club over the next few days, with a mix of blitz rugby and a couple of knockout matches for the older groups.
U14 Boys – Plate Semi-Final
Galway Bay v Connemara
Saturday, 2:00pm – Clifden
The U14s are first up this weekend, making the trip to Clifden to take on Connemara in their Plate semi-final.
It’s a good test away from home and a chance for the group to put in a solid performance and push on towards a final.
U17 Boys – Plate Semi-Final
Galway Bay Galwegians v Ballina
Sunday, 2:00pm – Crowley Park
The U17s are back out in Crowley Park on Sunday as they face Ballina in the Plate semi-final.
They’ll be looking to build on last year, having won this competition, and there’s a good bit of experience in the group when it comes to these types of games. Ballina will be competitive as always, so it should be a decent contest.
The other semi-final sees Westport take on Ballinrobe.
U16 Boys – Bowl Game
Galway Bay RC v Corrib
Monday, 7:00pm – Dangan
The U16s are also in action on Monday evening in Dangan against Corrib in the Bowl.
It’s a good chance for the group to keep things going and finish the season on a positive note. These evening games usually have a nice feel to them, and it should be a good run out for both sides.
U9s Hosting St. Mary’s
On Saturday, the focus shifts to the younger end, with Galway Bay hosting around 40 U9 players from St. Mary’s College RFC.
Days like this are what it’s all about at that age — plenty of games, plenty of touches, and a chance for everyone to get involved.
Seapoint Blitz Ahead
The U10s and U11s are also looking forward to the Seapoint Blitz, which is always one of the highlights of the year.
With clubs from all over the country taking part, it’s a great day out and a brilliant experience for the players.
Best of luck to all teams over the next few days.
