Busy Weekend of Youth Rugby Ahead for Galway Bay Rugby Club

Galway Bay Rugby Club has another action-packed weekend ahead, with players from Minis through to Youth rugby representing the club across Galway.

The weekend begins on Friday, September 25, with a particularly exciting occasion for our U12 players. The Galway Bay U12 Boys and Girls will take to the pitch at Dexcom Stadium for half-time matches, giving our young players a fantastic opportunity to experience playing at the home of Connacht Rugby.

First Home Blitz for the Minis

Saturday promises to be a very busy day, beginning with our first Minis home blitz of the season at Coláiste Muire Mathair.

The action runs from 11am to 1pm, with Galway Bay welcoming Galwegians, Corinthians and An Gaelteacht for what should be a brilliant morning of rugby.

Our U13 Boys also begin their season on Saturday with their first Youth Non-Competitive League match. They travel to Galwegians RFC for a 12pm kick-off in Round 1.

Galway Tribes Begin Their League Campaign

There is also an important opening league fixture for the Galway Tribes U14 Girls, the combined team featuring players from Galway Bay, Galwegians and Corinthians.

The Tribes welcome Portumna to Laurel Park at 11.30am on Saturday for Round 1 and their first Youth League match of the season.

Later in the afternoon, the Galway Bay U16 Boys face Monivea in a friendly at Dangan, kicking off at 1.30pm.

More Rugby on Sunday

The rugby continues on Sunday, September 27, with two more boys’ fixtures.

The U14 Boys travel to Corinthians for an 11am friendly, while the U15 Boys welcome Buccaneers to Dangan at 12pm.

It promises to be another great weekend for everyone involved with Galway Bay Rugby Club, with opportunities ranging from our youngest Minis enjoying their first home blitz to our U12s getting the memorable experience of playing at Dexcom Stadium.
