Weekend Preview – Galway Bay Age Grades
17 / 18 January
Galway Bay v Buccaneers
U18.5
Throw-in: 11:30am, Sunday 18 January
Venue: Dubarry Park
Galway Bay head to Dubarry Park on Sunday morning for a game that feels bigger than the table might suggest.
They sit fourth at the moment, with one win and three draws from four games.
Highly competitive in every match, just not quite finishing teams off yet. Draws against Corinthians and Sligo showed the character in this squad, but there’s a feeling they’ve left wins behind them.
That’s why this trip to Buccaneers matters. The hosts are just one place above Galway Bay, but their season has been stop-start. There are opportunities there if Galway Bay get things right.
From a GBRC point of view, it’s about being ruthless when chances come.

U18.5
Galway Bay/Galwegians v Buccaneers
U17
Time: 12:00
Date: Saturday 17 January
Venue: Dubarry Park
After defeats to Corinthians Black, Sligo and Dunmore, this is a massive game for Galway Bay/Galwegians.
Effort has been there, but now it’s about delivering a full 70-minute performance.
Buccaneers are also struggling, so both sides see this as a real chance to kick-start their season.
A win here is crucial if Galway Bay want to stay in contention.
Galway Bay v Monivea
U13
Time: 2:00pm Sunday
Venue: Monivea
A massive day for our U13s as they play their first competitive match. There has only been one match in the league with Sligo and Westport drawing.
Excitement levels are high and lots is expected from a well drilled outfit.
